Descending the steps that lead up to the Lincoln Memorial. At the top of the picture is the reflection pond.
The front side of the White House
Small World!!!! Our friends the Johnson's (I served with their son Jeff in CT on my mission) from Boise, Idaho sat about eight feet behind us at the Capital Building.
They had a concert in front of the capital building before the fireworks.

The Capitol Building after the fireworks.

The Washington Monument after the fireworks.

Saturday night we decided to go to the Washington D.C. Temple. It was gorgeous as you can see. We didn’t get a picture of it, but when we drove into D.C. on Thursday night we came around a corner of the freeway and the temple popped out of nowhere. It was lit up and looked like it was rising out of the trees, it was a really cool sight. The city actually made the church tone down the lights a few years back because it was such an amazing sight that it was causing accidents on the freeway!
