A Capital Independence Day

Neither of us had ever been to D.C. so we decided to go down there for Independence Day. 

The drive down took a really long time...it should only be about a four hour trip; but it took us six hours because we got stuck in traffic coming out of Manhattan. Our friend, Cecil Baldwin, was kind enough to let us use his old Cadillac Seville for the weekend.The lines in D.C. were crazy! We didn't want to have to drive the car around downtown D.C., so we parked in the suburbs and rode the metro into the city. Obviously, we weren't the only ones that had that idea. This line was to get our metro tickets and the train station. Here I am standing in front of the Department of Treasury building. Here is Stacy standing behind the White House. You can get a lot closer to the rear than the front.
